Nonhlanhla Masina, Co-Founder & CBDO
Nonhlanhla Masina is the embodiment of the potential that exists in the townships.
Born and raised in Tsakane, Ms. Masina walked eight kilometres each day to attend Buhlebemfundo High School, where she was named Best Female Learner as a matriculant in 2006. While there, she developed a passion for science, and began teaching courses in mathematics, chemistry, and biology to her fellow high school scholars while in Grade 11.
Ms. Masina was selected as one of just 20 young women in South Africa to receive a prestigious Carnegie BALE women scholarship to the University of Witwatersrand.
Ms. Masina holds a B.Sc. in Molecular and Cell Biology, a B.Sc. (honors) in biochemistry, and is currently pursuing her Masters in Pharmaceutics, all at the University of Witwatersrand (Wits).
